Why Use a Pedometer

Why Use a Pedometer

We all walk.  Whether we walk enough is an open question.  One way to keep track of how much we walk is to use a pedometer.

Fitness gurus inform us that we need to exercise as a minimum of 3 hours a week.  Just how much exercise do you do then?  It is probably more than you think but how do you measure your effort and is what you do enough?  You could go to the gym, cycle, swim and note time, distance or lengths of the pool or count steps automatically with your pedometer is probably easier than timing.

But what about doing the housework or climbing the stairs.  These all count towards your weekly tally too.  A simple pedometer enables you calculate the number of steps taken or stairs climbed this allows you to enjoy the exercise rather than watching the clock.  Exercise is supposed to be fun.

Often it is difficult to fit in time to exercise, but using the pedometer when you walk to the shops, wander around the store, window shop helps to keep you fit while doing the daily or weekly shopping.  Little and often is a better way to exercise rather than making one effort on Sunday.  Studies show that people who used a pedometer were more likely to add about 2,000 steps to their weekly routine.  Why not have a look at these great products.
